Anthony Braemar "Tony" Ineson (born 23 April 1950 in Christchurch)[1] is a former field hockey player from New Zealand, who was a member of the national team that won the Gold medal at the 1976 Summer Olympics in Montreal.

Ineson was the captain of the 1976 gold medal winning hockey team. His brother Chris was a New Zealand representative at the 1972 Summer Olympics.[2] Tony Ineson was also selected for the 1980 Olympic Games, but because of the 1980 boycott the team did not play in Moscow.

Ineson scored crucial penalty corner goals in the 1976 semi-final against Holland and the final against archrivals Australia.[1][2] Ineson, who played at right back, competed for Cyril Walter’s University club in Christchurch, though in some seasons he turned out for Redcliffs.

Ineson was elected, with the rest of the Gold medal winning team, to the New Zealand Sports Hall of Fame in 1990.[2]
